The 9 3/4" three (3) micron exterior filter is replaced after every flush. This can be used as a diagnostic yardstick as to the condition of the engine.
The three (3) micron internal metal spin-on filter is replaced every 40 flushes.
* In some instances, solution and internal filters are replaced after 20 or 30 flushes.
