California Environmental Engineering Final Report

Please Note: The Motorlife™ Engine Flush was also marketed as the Bilstein Engine Flush prior to 2001.  This report was put out during this period.  It is no longer marketed under the Bilstein name.

The effects of the Bilstein R-2000 Engine Flush System upon Vehicle Exhaust Emissions, Fuel Economy, Engine Performance, and Oil Quality.

STUDY OBJECTIVES

In September 1999, Bilstein Automotive Group conducted a 7-month study on the effectiveness of the Bilstein R-2000 engine flush service on vehicle emissions, fuel economy, engine performance and oil quality.

The propose of the study was to evaluate the key quantifiable effects of the Bilstein engine flush service on a small number of different makes and models of vehicles that differed in age, mileage, engine systems, engine size and fuel.

TEST RESULTS

The study found that the Bilstein R-2000 oil flush service produced positive results regarding emissions, fuel economy, performance and oil quality on the study's vehicle fleet. The quantifiable findings were documented in detail in the report, and later summarized for Krupp Bilstein of America by Dr. Robert A. Dody, past Chairman of a Vehicle Maintenance Advisory Committee for the California Bureau of Automotive Repair and former Vice Chairman of the South Coast AQMD Hearing Board.

Dr. Doty's summary of the test findings are shown graphically on the charts to the left.

According to Dr. Doty, the Bilstein service was effective in reducing 10 key engine oil wear elements and oil contaminants between 33%-100% - over and above a standard oil change.

These findings document that abrasive engine wear can be reduced significantly by reducing particulates in engine oil. When particulate levels are reduced, internal engine friction is reduced, fuel economy is improved and tail pipe emissions drop. Removing particulates from the engine's lubrication system will reduce engine wear and minimize the need for major engine service.

CONCLUSIONS AND SUMMARY

Krupp Binstein is very pleased to announce that the test results regarding the Bilstein R-2000 engine oil flush system overwhelmingly show positive benefits for engine wear, performance and emission. Wear elements were reduced by as much as 33 - 1005 over and above a standard oil change. Miles per gallon, horsepower and torque all showed a significant increase that ultimately improved engine performance. And, four major exhaust emissions were reduced due to improved engine efficiency.

This easy-to-use system uses patented solutions and adapters to dissolve accumulations of sludge, tar, varnish and wear metals. As a result, your customers will benefit from better performance, superior fuel economy and a longer engine life.
